Surefire Studios (“we”, “us”) is a design and development studio based in Los Angeles, California. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep collection deliberately minimal.
1. Information you give us
- Contact form. Your name, email address and message.
- Booking a call. Name, email, selected time, and anything you add to the booking notes.
- Direct contact. Anything you send by email, phone, text, Slack or Discord.
- Client engagements. Billing and project details, and any materials you provide so we can perform the work.
2. Information collected automatically
Our host and the third-party services listed below record standard technical data when you load a page: IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, referring page, and timestamps. This is used for delivery, security and troubleshooting.
3. Cookies
We do not set advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run behavioral advertising or cross-site tracking. Cookies or similar storage may be set by embedded third-party services when you interact with them — for example the scheduling tool. You can block or delete cookies in your browser and the site will continue to work.
4. Service providers
We use a small number of third parties. Each receives only what it needs, and each handles data under its own policy:
- Cloudflare — website hosting and delivery. Processes request data including IP address for serving pages and for security.
- Formspree — processes contact-form submissions and forwards them to us.
- Cal.com — scheduling. Receives the details you enter when booking a call.
- Google Fonts — typefaces are requested from Google servers, which receive your IP address as part of that request.
- unpkg — delivers an open-source icon library used on some pages, and receives your IP address as part of that request.
We may also share information with professional advisers, where required by law, or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. How we use information
To respond to enquiries, schedule and hold meetings, prepare proposals, perform and support client work, issue invoices and keep accounts, maintain security, meet legal obligations, and improve the site. Where law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent, performance of a contract, our legitimate interest in operating the studio, or compliance with a legal obligation.
6. Retention
Enquiries that do not become projects are kept only as long as useful and then deleted. Client and financial records are kept as long as needed for the engagement and for the period required by tax, legal and accounting obligations. Server and security logs are retained on our providers’ standard schedules.
7. Security
We use reputable providers, restrict access to information to those who need it, and apply sensible operational safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send passwords, card numbers or other sensitive credentials by email or through the contact form.
8. Your rights
California residents (CCPA/CPRA). You may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, request deletion, request correction, and request that we limit the use of sensitive information. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CPRA, so there is nothing to opt out of — but you may still contact us with any request.
UK and EEA residents (UK GDPR / GDPR). You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent at any time. You may also complain to your local supervisory authority.
To exercise any right, email hello@surefirestudios.io. We may need to verify your identity, and will respond within the period required by law.
9. International transfers
We operate from the United States and our providers may process data there and elsewhere. Where information is transferred out of the UK or EEA, it is done under a safeguard permitted by law.
10. Children
This site and our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Client data and third-party sites
When we build or maintain a website for a client, any personal data collected through that site is controlled by the client, who is responsible for its own privacy notice and compliance. We process that data only as needed to perform the work. Our site links to third-party sites and platforms whose privacy practices are their own, and for which we are not responsible.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date above shows when it last changed, and material changes will be reflected here.
