Surefire Studios

Surefire Studios — design & development — Los Angeles

Impossible to ignore.

Brand, product and web design for SaaS and startups. Senior hands, start to finish.

01 — Why Surefire

Senior hands on every
single project.

You work directly with the person doing the work. Every project is led by our founder and creative director — 20 years across branding, UI/UX and full-stack development — rather than pitched by a principal and handed to whoever is free that week.

That experience runs from Inc. 500 companies through to leading AI firms, where the work has included training their teams. Hiring someone with that background costs six figures a year before benefits, and most teams do not have enough work to keep them busy. This way you get the seniority on the days you need it, and carry nothing on the days you do not.

20 years
of senior craft leading the work — not overseeing it from a distance.

03 — Services

What we do

01

Branding & identity

Positioning, naming, logo suites and full identity systems, with guidelines that keep them coherent long after we hand them over.

02

UI/UX design

Research, architecture and interface design for products people return to, drawn to be built rather than admired in a deck.

03

Web design & development

Marketing sites and web apps in React, Tailwind or hand-written HTML, including the unglamorous performance work that keeps them quick.

04

Wireframing & prototyping

Low-fidelity structure and clickable prototypes that settle the hard questions before anyone writes production code.

05

CMS & WordPress

WordPress, Shopify and Squarespace builds and migrations, set up so your team can actually edit them without breaking anything.

06

Maintenance & SEO

Ongoing care, technical SEO and Core Web Vitals work, so the site keeps earning after launch instead of quietly decaying.

07

Marketing & advertising graphics

Campaign systems, ad creative and social assets built to travel across every channel without losing their composure.

08

Motion graphics & animation

Motion identity, product film and interface animation — movement with a reason, never movement for its own sake.

09

Print & packaging

Packaging, collateral and large-format work, prepared properly for press. Print pricing is listed in full on our printing page.

10

Pitch decks & presentations

Investor and sales decks where the argument and the design are built together, because a deck is a narrative before it is a layout.

11

AI-powered creative solutions

AI woven into real production pipelines where it earns its place — and left out where a human hand is still better.

12

Consulting & strategy

Creative direction, audits and the launch strategy that decides whether anyone finds out you did any of the above.

04 — How it works

Submit. Relax. Receive.

Submit

We set up a private channel on Discord, Slack or Trello. Send requests there and track everything in one place — no meetings required.

Relax

We take it from there. Requests are worked one at a time, with quick wins and time-sensitive items pulled forward first.

Receive

Most requests come back in 24–48 hours. Revisions are unlimited on plans — nothing is finished until you say it is.

05 — Pricing

Published prices, not a discovery call

Fixed prices for defined work, monthly plans when the work never really stops, and print handled end to end. Everything is listed openly.

06 — FAQ

Fire away

Why not just hire a designer in-house?

Because a senior designer who can also ship front-end code costs well north of $100,000 a year before benefits — and most teams cannot keep one busy enough to justify it. You end up either overpaying for idle time or hiring junior and managing them yourself. We give you the senior end of that trade without the headcount.

Who actually does the work?

Our founder and creative director leads every project personally — 20 years across branding, UI/UX and full-stack development. When a job needs a specialist or the queue peaks, we bring in senior collaborators we have worked with for years, and nothing reaches you without going through the same review.

Do you design only, or do you build it too?

Both, and that is the point. Identity, interface and shipped front-end come out of one studio — React, Tailwind, hand-written HTML/CSS, or a CMS your team can actually run. No handoff to an agency that reinterprets the work and blames the file.

Can you take over a project someone else started?

Often, yes. We will audit what exists and tell you honestly whether it is worth continuing or cheaper to rebuild. We have no incentive to pretend a broken foundation is salvageable.

How fast do things move?

Typical turnaround on a plan is 24–48 hours for standard requests on the higher tiers, and 2–3 business days on Essential. Those are typical figures rather than guarantees — a straightforward edit may come back the same day, and something genuinely involved will take longer. Larger builds run on a real schedule with dates, and you will have those dates before you commit to anything, not after.

How do requests and revisions work?

Submit as many as you like through a private Slack, Discord or Trello channel. They sit in a queue and we work them in order — one at a time on Essential, two at a time on Studio — so each gets full attention rather than three things moving badly at once. Urgent and quick-win items get pulled forward where we can. Revisions on plans are unlimited; work is not finished until you say it is.

Am I buying a set number of hours each month?

No, and this is the most important thing to understand about how we work. A plan buys you a place in our queue and a level of priority — not a block of reserved hours. We schedule work across every active client, and higher tiers move ahead of lower ones.

In practice that means a month on a plan gets you a month of steady output, but we are not selling time by the hour and the value is not a division sum. If what you actually need is a guaranteed number of hours in a given week, say so — that is a different arrangement and we will quote it separately rather than pretend a plan covers it.

What happens if you are busy?

Your position in the queue is set by your tier, so a Studio client is never waiting behind an Essential one. If our queue is full enough that we cannot serve a new client properly, we will tell you and offer a start date rather than take the money and let the work sit. We would rather turn work away than deliver it late.

What size companies do you work with?

From founders shipping a first product to established teams that need overflow capacity or a rebrand. The work scales; the standard does not.

Is there work you turn down?

Yes. If a project is outside what we do well, or you would genuinely be better served somewhere else, we will say so on the first call. That conversation is free and it saves everyone a great deal of money.

What if we need to pause?

Tell us and we pause it. Billing only runs on active months. There is no lock-in, because work that has to be contractually trapped was not good enough to keep.
